Dress Code

Contestant provides all their own attire, horse and tack. 

Speech/Modeling & Interview: Boots, belt, cowboy hat, and western skirt & western long sleeve shirt or a western dress.

 Horsemanship: Western attire including: boots, belt, western style jeans, cowboy hat, long sleeve shirt.

The Contest

Order of events is subject to change.

Horsemanship:  The arena will be available for warm up after check-in. Be prepared to start by 9:15am. The pattern will be given at check in. In addition to the pattern contestants will complete a flag run and a presentation ride.  

 BREAK TO CHANGE CLOTHING

Interview:  Each contestant will go in number order individually into the interview with the judges. They will be asked random questions about themselves, their horses, rodeo knowledge and Bluffdale City knowledge.

Speech/Modeling/Impromptu Question: (Order of events is subject to change) All contestants will first model and then give their prepared speech on topic of their own choice (between 1½ - 2 minutes) followed by an impromptu question. 

Coronation will be held after scores are tallied. Queen and Attendants should plan to stay for a short meeting after coronation.

Old West Days Rodeo Queen Application

  1. Please include why you want to be the Old West Days Rodeo Queen and pertinent rodeo and life experiences. 

  2. I acknowledge that as of June 1, 2022, I am between the ages of 16-25.*
  3. A parent or guardian signature is required if Contestant is a minor.
  4. Upon placing in the royalty for the Old West Days Rodeo: *

    I agree to attend a photo shoot, a city council meeting, the Old West Days Rodeo (July 29-30), Old West Days Family Fun Rodeo (August 9), Old West Days Parade (August 13), and any other Old West Days activities (Evenings August 8-12 & all day August 13) requested by the committee. 

  5. I have read and understand the obligations in the Requirements and Responsibilities document.*

    If for any reason I cannot uphold my duties to the Crown, weather I am the Queen or an Attendant, that my position, awards, and royalties will be passed down to the Royalty next in line.

  6. Electronic Signature Agreement*

    By checking the "I agree" box below, you agree and acknowledge that 1) your application will not be signed in the sense of a traditional paper document, 2) by signing in this alternate manner, you authorize your electronic signature to be valid and binding upon you to the same force and effect as a handwritten signature, and 3) you may still be required to provide a traditional signature at a later date.
